Thanks for joining Sweet Startups. This is where we talk to startups and established businesses. We are excited to talk to someone like yourself.

Q. Tell our readers a bit about your background and how you got started in your career?

A. 1) Thank you so much for having me its a pleasure. Well I was born and raised in Ohio I’m 25 years old and have always love singing but just been kind of shy about it. I do come from a musical family since I was raised in the church. In high school I started off in a small independent group for a little bit writing and making music but decided I needed to venture off and focus more on myself as an artist as well as my studies, then as I got older I stated working with a few music branding companies that were not a good fit hardly produced any results but no I have an AMAZING manager and team behind me making moves like crazy with my first EP releasing soon early next year.

Q. Who are your favorite artists and how do they influence your music making?

A.  Some of my favorite artists are Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Rihanna, Usher,Drake because they work so hard at their craft to get to where they are now. They are truly an inspiration nobody handed them anything and that lets me know I can achieve that same opportunity just continue to stay focus and work hard.

Q. Everyone has life lessons we change from. What is one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced and how did you overcome it?

A. 3) The biggest life challenge I ever had to face was a miscarriage the loss of my husband and I child it was the biggest pain I ever encountered in my life. It lets me know the biggest blessings and opportunities can be given to you and taken away so quick just like in this music business. I had good friends to talk with and encourage me, left it in God’s hands and just worked on ideas for music to overcome it.

Q. What advice would you give yourself as a kid?

A.  4) Advice I would give myself as a kid is to never let anyone stop you from fulfilling your dreams don’t be afraid or give up if it’s your desire keep chasing it sometimes it’s not always easy but things will surely happen and always keep God first.

Q. If you were to perform two songs in front of 50,000 people what would you perform and why?

A.5) I would perform my 1st single “Your loss” because it’s one of my favorite songs I have written it speaks to people it’s something we can all relate to and it’s a club banger. I would also perform Keyshia Cole’s song ” I remember ” I have always loved that song it’s so deep it’s something that truly speaks to the heart for women.

Q. What your upcoming projects and how can people listen your music?

A.  6) My first EP called “Heartbreak” is soon to release early next year you can actually go on iTunes and other digital sites under the name Yunique and listen to my single “Your loss” or go on my fb page Yuniquethesinger and listen to a couple of singles.
