Interview with Tek Kim, Business Development Manager at Fiverr

I recently had the opportunity to chat with Tek Kim, Business Development Manager at Fiverr. Check out our  interview to get insider advice, and learn how freelancers and entrepreneurs can benefit from this innovative,  global marketplace.

1) Tell me more about Fiverr and your particular role at the company?

Fiverr is the world’s largest online marketplace for digital and creative services where you can get anything from a business logo, explainer video, jingle to caricatures at incredibly competitive prices. I am a part of the Business Development team at Fiverr and lead Local Market Strategy, which looks to accelerate growth in our top markets around the world.

2) What are some benefits of being a Fiverr seller or buyer?

As a Fiverr buyer, you have access to digital services (“gigs”) from talented freelancers around the world. What sets us apart from other online marketplaces is that buying a digital service is as easy buying a book on an e-commerce website vs. having to go back and forth with negotiations with different freelancers. Also our prices are incredibly competitive and start as low as $5.

As a Fiverr seller, you have access to a massive pool of leads around the world. You can set you own prices, hours, and build up your own personal brand. Also due to the e-commerce like structure of Fiverr, you also save a lot of time, not having to submit quotes, negotiate, and chase down payments. You can really work the way you want on what you love.

3) With the Alley NYC Partnership, what do you hope Fiverr members will get out of it?

Through the Fiverr x Alley partnership, Fiverr users get access to both Alley locations in New York (Midtown & Chelsea) for $5/day. That’s 80% off the regular price for access to their shared desks and the first time it’s been offered at this price point. Essentially you can work at one of the best co-working spaces in the city for the price of a cup of coffee. And yes, coffee is included!

4) Please tell me a little more about this partnership and Alley.

This partnership was put together as a way to give back to our amazing Fiverr community. Whether you’re a freelancer, entrepreneur, or working on the next big thing, we understand that where you work is critical to your success. We want to allow you to work in a professional environment with like-minded people.
