Are you a “Shark Tank” fan? Have you ever wondered where you can buy some of those unconventional products that are pitched on the show? If so, you’ll love www.allsharktankproducts.com. This site is a one-stop shop that any startup enthusiast will enjoy. Check out our Q and A session with All Shark Tank Products below:
- Q: What inspired you to create allsharktankproducts.com?
A: I’m a huge fan of the show. I’ve been a fan since the very beginning in season 1. Over the years, there were a lot of products that I wanted to find more information on or even buy for myself, but there wasn’t a good central source of information.
I wanted a resource that make it easy to find the product, even if you couldn’t remember the name, get more information on it, and be able to actually buy it.
That didn’t exist, so I created it.
- Q: Your site logs and features products from all 6 seasons of Shark. Were you/are you a big fan of the show?
A: As I mentioned, I love the show. It’s so interesting to see some of the strange ideas that people come up with. It’s also really inspiring to see a normal person see a need and then create a product to solve it. It really makes you think, “Hey, I could do that!”
- Q: Do you have a favorite pitch/business idea? If so which idea do you feel was the most creative?
A: I think one of the best products that has come into the tank is the Breathometer Smartphone Breathalyzer. There is a huge problem with people driving while intoxicated. Many of these people don’t realize just how intoxicated they actually are. Full fledged breathalyzers are expensive and aren’t really in a form factor that you’d want to carry one when you go out. This product is small and compact and works with your smartphone to check your blood alcohol content. It’s ingenious! The sharks loved it too, with all 5 investing a total of $1 million for 30% of the company.
- Q: What’s been the reception of your site so far? Have any former contestants reached out to you?
A: We’ve had nothing but positive feedback. All Shark Tank Products is the only Shark Tank site that comprehensively covers all of the products pitched on the tank and does do in a neat and organized way.
We do hear from former contestants from time to time. More than anything, they think it’s neat that people are interested in their product. Most of these products are very personal to their creators. I’m sure it’s personally fulfilling to see other people interested in the product that they created.
- Q: In your opinion, is there a formula to success on the show? If so what separates a successful pitch vs. a failed pitch?
A: The formula is pretty basic. The product should fill a need in the market that’s broad enough where there’s potential for growth, there should be some sales history to prove that people will pay for the solution, and the entrepreneur needs to be able to explain all of this clearly to the sharks.
That last step is the biggest factor in a successful pitch vs. a failed pitch. These guys have to know their market and their numbers. If they can’t explain what they’re doing and the numbers behind it, they’re not going to get a deal.
