How did you get started in the photography industry?
For many people, photography is a career and a way to express creative arts. Passion is what feeds my interest in photography. My education background also did a lot to shape my destiny. Because of my work, I have visited many places and met many interesting people.
Did you ever doubt your business idea even for a moment?
Not at all, I have met freelance photographers making a decent living and reliving their dreams. The photography career can be daunting, but rewarding at the same time. During the formative years, I invested in expensive photography equipment’s and sharpened my people skills in order to monetize my trade. The investment meant making some sacrifices, and I am very glad I did.
Did you have a mentor?
The mentor guided me by imparting valuable lessons in photography. The mentorship program also helped narrow my interest in the preferred genres. I have also received a lot of exposure by attending photography exhibitions and social media exchanges. With these artistic and technical experiences, I look forward to establishing my own studio.
Do you have any regrets about your career choices?
I do not see any regret, but rather a career-enhancing move with endless opportunities. This doesn’t mean there are no challenges. The challenges I have had to endure include unending work routine and loss of creative input, especially when working in unfamiliar genres.
Which business leaders do you admire most?
Quite a number I must say. Topping the list is Elon Musk and Mohammad Yunus. Elon is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world. The self-made billionaire juggles a number of high profile positions from product architecture to space science. Mohammad is a renowned economist and Nobel laureate with an impeccable public service record. He is the founder of Grameen Bank and distinguished personality for his work on social and economic development.
What does the future hold for your company?
Being a full-time professional photographer, I see a very bright future. Technology has afforded us new tools of the trade, which are crucial in advancing photography. I will add that lots of business opportunities exist in events, travel and retail photography. This is the reason I will be unveiling a state-of-the-art studio in San Francisco for an opportunity to explore my passion to the fullest.
What is the most important aspect of your brand?
Branding is a crucial marketing component that can make or break a business. I credit the success of my brand to sheer determination, understanding the competition and knowing my areas of strength. I usually reach out to my individual and corporate clients through social media, email and phone conversation. If the situations demand, I often go for visitations.
What motivates you to go out every day?
I am motivated by the unique experiences I get from the assignments that pass my desk every day. Being an accomplished photographer, I have been to many events, including weddings and corporate events. Besides the fun of traveling, I appreciate the fact that the handsome financial rewards I get from the assignments are tied to my reputation and type of event.
How do you unwind?
I am an outdoors person and an ardent traveler. Exploring the world with a camera means nothing enchanting ever escapes my sight. I also enjoy swimming and biking.

Opportunities exist in teaching, consultancy, blogging and selling photography works online and in print. To the aspiring photographer, I say learning how to connect with subjects and being aware of the lighting and the environment are crucial elements in photography.
