The Venture Highway, which is a VC firm in the India, was founded by the former Google executive named Samir Sood. On Thrsday, he said that the firm had raised an amount of $78.6 million for the 2nd fund since that looked to double down to invest in the early-stage startup firm.
The firm was first founded in 2015 and has invested in over 2 dozens startup to date which also include the social network ShareChat that in the previous year had raised $100 million in the financing round which is led by the Twitter, the social commerce Meesho, that has grown to be backed by the Facebook as well as the Prosus Ventures and the Lightspeed-backed OkCredit, that provides a bookkeeping app for some smaller merchants.
Venture Highway focuses to lead the pre-seed and the seed financing rounds and also cut the checks between $1 million to $1.5 million on every investment – said by the Samir Sood in his interview with the TechCrunch.
In addition to this, the Venture Highway also counts Neeraj Arora who is the former business head of the WhatsApp and played a key role in selling the messaging all to the Facebook. Both Arora and Sood worked together at the Google more than a decade ago and also aided the Silicon Valley giant to explore the merger and the acquisition deals across the Asia as well as the other regions.
The firm said that they had already made several investments via the 2nd fund, and some of the deals included the investments in the mobile esports platform MPL, OkCredit, Gurgaon SaaS platform, WMall, O4S and so on.
