Uber to provide appreciation rewards to its drivers

While gearing up for its highly anticipated public debut, Uber has also come up with specific appreciation rewards for drivers who have achieved in getting certain serious rides on the platform. This reward system provided by Uber to some of its drivers is basically done with the aim of convincing them to stick to the Uber services. The hail-riding company Uber also is known to follow Lyft which rewards its drivers with one-time cash bonus during their public offering.

The hail-riding company Uber is now working on setting aside some of its shares of common stock at the initial IPO price so as to enable the drivers with appreciation rewards to purchase them.

Uber has set a certain amount of figures that the drivers will get for completing a particular number of lifetime tips. The drivers of Uber are deemed to get $100, $500, $1000 or $10,000 for completing 2,500; 5,000; 10,000; or 20,000 lifetime tips respectively. However, there is a condition to this appreciation reward. The condition is that the Uber driver will need to complete at least one ride in the year 2019 as of April 7.

The driver appreciation reward of Uber is quite similar to that of the public offering undertaken by Lyft. In this public offering undertaken by Lyft, it had awarded the drivers with 10,000 and 20,000 rides with $1000 and $10,000 respectively. However, the key difference of this driver appreciation reward between Uber and Lyft is that the ride-hailing company Uber has come up with certain nice smaller bonuses in the form of cash for the less prolific drivers.

In regard of the driver appreciation award, for drivers outside the United States, the hail-riding company Uber has said that the award shall be adjusted by region basis.
