Artificial intelligence is continuing to become the theme of moment in the enterprise software. Today, Appier, the Taiwan company which has created a suite of the AI-powered marketing as well as ad tools has announced another round of funding. Appier is a startup firm that provides AI engine to retailers and the brands to improve the engagement of customers, to predict purchasing and to improve the conversions on the sites. The company has announced that they have picked up an amount of $80 million.
The Series D is including the HOPU-Arm Innovation Fund, the TGVest Capital, Insignia Venture Partners, JAFCO Investment, Temasek’s Pavilion Capital and UMC Capital. With their previous investors – Sequoia, SoftBank, Alibaba and Line, they have raised $162 million. The company though didn’t disclose the fund but tells that the fund has been developing since Series C. Appier currently has around 1000 customers.
Marketing technology is a bigger sector of the software which the advertising and marketing people use to optimize, launch and measure their marketing campaigns. This marketing technology sometimes sits under the shade of adtech, while in reality it has been estimated to become $121 billion businesses.
The CEO of the Appier named Chih-Han Yu, in his graduate school studied computer science and artificial intelligence and went to Harvard for PhD. He said that in Asia, things have been developing and extending quite faster so that it appeared like an easier entry point for them. Appier has the headquarter in the Taiwan, and they have the offices in Singapore and Japan too with a list of their investors which span all the geographies and more.
