TechCrunch is excited to announce that Carolina Brochado, the director of the SoftBank Vision Fund investment will be joining at the TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin. Carolina isn’t a newcomer to VC investment as she has worked at the Atomico for years in the London. She is actually from Brazil and she joined the Atomico during 2012 as an intern as at that time she was studying MBA at the Columbia Business School. She has a BSc in the Foreign Service from the Georgetown University before the MBA. When she completed her MBA, she joined in an E-Commerce startup as the head of the operations, but unfortunately the startup is at defunct right now. She used her startup company to join the Atomico once more, and she became a partner of the Atomico in 2016, and last year she left the company.
At the Vision Fund of the SoftBank, she is mainly focusing on the fintech, marketplace and digital health startups. To give you a clear idea, here is some past investment of her – LendInvest, Gympass, Hinge Health, Ontruck and also Rekki. TechCrunch is very curious to know about the approach of the SoftBank as the board members, either they get a full involvement in the strategy of the companies, or they let those executive teams to make the decisions.
You can buy your ticket to the Disrupt Berlin to hear the discussion and the conference is going to take place on 11-12 December, 2019. In addition to them, the new startups will also participate in Startup Battlefield to compete for a Battlefield Cup.
