French E-Grocery App Jow Has Raised $7 Million Additional Funding

Jow is a French e-grocery app that combines recommendations, recipes as well as online grocery ordering. This French e-grocery has raised the funding of $7 million, and the round is led by Stride VC along with Jyri Engestrom and Caterina Fake from the Yes VC and the co-founder and CEO of the Zola named Shan-Lyn Ma. The DST global partners as well as eVentures has also participated in the round.

Jow was first launched in 2018 and now is supporting French top 5 leading grocery retailers named – Monoprix, Auchan, Carrefout, E. Leclerc and Chronodrive. The app claims to let an individual to finish the weekly online food shop, and it performs this by making customized menus, tailored in each household and user and filling the online shopping cart with necessary ingredients. The plan is to answer the simple question – “What’s the dinner for tonight?”.

The co-founder and CEO of Jow named Jacques-Edouard Sabatier said that the weekly shopping online could take an hour to complete, and one can thus easily waste a huge time for right product and to put that in the cart which is truly an awful experience for each customer. He has also said that the app Jow also could create a customized menu with delicious and simple recipes, and the recommendation of their food engine would consider the tastes, kitchen appliances whether or not you would have the children and also would check the availability of the ingredients in the supermarket. Jow could automatically fill up the cart with every ingredient that you need to cook your meals.
