The funding will be utilized by the Speechly company to develop their company further and to open up the API to enable the non-experts to build voice-enabled applications.

The co-founder and CEO of the Speechly named Söderlund told to TechCrunch that the voice had shown real promise over the previous years but an actual breakthrough beyond setting the timers of the kitchen. Besides, the ongoing fundamental problem of the voice assistant platforms is that they are likely to fail with complex requests and needs from the users.

He also said that one could think of the differences a little like trying to discuss and explain anything tricky to the friend over phone vs face-to-face. To achieve this, the startup has also designed the own proprietary speech recognition technology from the ground up to support that they claimed was significantly wider range of voice related user experiences comparing to the existing products. Another problem that Speechly wants to solve is about the business care for the voice.
