To widen the footprint in e-commerce overseas market, the e-commerce giant, Amazon is deepening relationship with Future Retail, second largest retail market in India. They have signed a long-term agreement that will help to expand Future Retail’s business through Amazon in Indian marketplace.
By this agreement, Amazon will become an authorized online marketplace for Future retail in India. This deal also includes Big Bazar and FoodHall. Future Retail takes a fancy to 350 million tread and will now enlist its products on two-hour delivery platform of Amazon which already being operated in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Future Retail wants to deal with grocery products like general merchandize, beauty products, fashion, which already Amazon dealing with in India. To facilitate online order packaging and picking up products, Future Retail will boost up their store infrastructure. It already has an encouraging result across their 22 stores.
Future Consumer has also built a long-term tie-up with Amazon to secure their online distribution in Indian marketplace. Future Consumer serves a wide-range of service such as food, home as well as personal care, beauty care products.
The two hopes this deal to build their physical strengths and serve customers with best services and products.
Future Retail’s Future Coupons allows a 3.58% stake to Amazon in Indian business retail chain.
Future Retail operates a wide share of Indian retail brands, which covers a range from grocery to electronics to fashion. But as In India, online shopping still accounts for a low share like 5%, Future Retail want to expand their business to e-commerce and become a reliable trusted e-commerce platform.
