Meet Krishen Iyer (Sweet Startups Interview)

Krishen Iyer, an advertising expert known for specializing in technical development, digital marketing, and client relations, recently announced the launch of a new company called Managed Benefits Services. A dynamic professional with extensive experience in entrepreneurship as well as digital marketing, Iyer’s new company intends to focus on two main verticals: Health insurance and dental insurance marketing and leads.

  1. Hi! Please tell us about yourself and/or Managed Benefits Services?

In addition to founding my company, Managed Benefits Services, I’m an avid reader who loves Stephen King and is grateful to live in California’s San Joaquin Valley. As an entrepreneur, I try to take advantage of every opportunity to give back to the community, so I volunteer as often as my busy schedule allows and contribute to causes dedicated to helping people all over the globe.

  1. What inspired the creation of such an innovative company?

My previous experiences in the industry highlighted the need for a company focused specifically on generating insurance lead traffic. In order to fill this need, however, I had to develop a new platform designed for a specific strategic approach and capable of handling a substantial amount of volume. With the general concept for the platform in place, I felt it was time to launch my new company, Managed Benefits Services.

  1. Why are dynamic campaign templates for capture pages and marketing tools so important?

The platform I developed for Managed Benefits Services features a system that provides these campaign templates for capture pages and marketing tools to our users, and this is critical for a number of reasons. Not only are the capture pages aesthetically pleasing — which is obviously important — they also feature a high click-through rate that we believe maximizes the value of each lead since it is designed to find the best match between the lead and the buyer.

  1. Your company recently announced it is launching a new platform in 2018 (cool!). Could you please tell us more about that?

I’m really excited about the new platform and cannot wait for its scheduled launch date (January 1, 2018). Without going into too much detail, the platform is highly sophisticated and includes a host of features designed to deliver a wealth of benefits to the user. We are already using the platform in-house, so suffice it to say that there is ample reason to be excited about its fast approaching launch date.

  1. Best advice you’ve ever received? Best advice you’ve ever given?

The best advice I ever received revolved on the need to be mindful of inertia and the subtle power it wields in the decision-making process. Throughout both my academic and professional career, I’ve never been concerned about changing course, even if doing so would be more difficult over the short term. As an undergraduate, I majored in public administration and urban development. Even so, when I saw an opportunity to build a business around my digital marketing and technical development expertise, I didn’t hesitate to take advantage of the opportunity despite the fact that the potential long-term rewards could only be realized with a substantial investment of time and energy over the short-term.

  1. Any parting tips for entrepreneurs?

Entrepreneurs should never be afraid of making sweeping changes when necessary, especially when those changes will lead to significant long-term rewards. There will be times when staying the course is the easiest option, but the best entrepreneurs look at the entire picture when making the kinds of decisions that affect the long-term viability of their company.
