In the next upcoming weeks, we’ll have some great new stories and articles here at Sweet Startups. We’re working on more interviews, more resourceful tips, and more ways to encourage our readers, no matter where you are in your entrepreneurial journey. Today, we want to dive into why it’s so darn important to read more entrepreneur interviews.

Entrepreneurs are rare gems. Like unicorns with wings. They magically manage to balance life, family, friends, and sometimes even a job or two, all while operating a business. If you’ve been reading Sweet Startups, by now you’ve realized that entrepreneurs come from a variety of backgrounds and industries. They help make our world what it is, by offering solutions to our problems, no matter how simple or complex. Whether you are a startup, established, or aspiring to open a company in the future, it’s essential to learn about the stories of other business owners. Below, we’ve listed our top 5 reasons why you should read entrepreneur interviews. If you have any others, please feel free to add them to our comment section.

1. Vicariously Learning From Mistakes

Mistakes- we all make them. Especially when starting a brand new business. But, what if you could learn lessons from mistakes that you’ve never made? Sometimes an experienced business owner will tell you the mistakes they’ve made and how you can avoid making them. Whenever you can avoid a critical roadblock, don’t be afraid to gratefully oblige.

2. Inspiration + Motivation

Let’s face it.  It can get tough out there. When you are trying to build something great for yourself and your family (if you have one), you may get a little overwhelmed from time to time. Reading entrepreneur interviews can help inspire you to become a better you, and make it through the tough times.

3. Realistic Perspectives

Most of our featured entrepreneurs aren’t the top 1% (yet). They’re people like you and me, who believe in something and work hard to make it happen. Although it’s great to read interviews from billionaires, there are plenty of successful millionaires and “six-figurenaires” who have been featured right here on this blog. Reading interviews about real entrepreneurs from local communities around the world, can help broaden your perspective on what it really takes to run a successful business.

4. Ideas

Sometimes entrepreneurs might say something compelling, that can make you look at things in a different way. It could be a new way to market, solve problems, or increase your revenue. Whatever the epiphany, reading another business owner’s story can help you improve your own enterprise.

5. Advice From Virtual Role Models

Reading interviews can provide you with the opportunity to learn advice from what I like to call, “Virtual Role Models”. Each interview is like a 2 to 4 minute free course, that gives you direct insight into exploring the world of another entrepreneur.  Some interviewees are short and sweet, while others may give you a step-by-step tour of their unique world. Each adventure can help you evolve and grow, personally and professionally.
